Description
When our theology drifts, our methods follow. Modern strategies for cultural engagement and contextualization have grown increasingly innovative and unbiblical, compromising the very mission they set out to complete.
Every compromise to fit the culture exposes a deeper error, a distorted view of sin and a diluted gospel that cannot save. If we are serious about making real disciples and planting churches that stand the test of time, we must make no compromise as we recover, clarify, and fight for the ancient gospel — the gospel that addresses every culture and generation.
For the missionary, the ancient church’s gospel doctrine, as recovered by the Reformers, should be an impenetrable wall. It should separate the sheep from the wolves. The five solas—sola Scriptura, sola fide, sola gratia, solus Christus, soli Deo gloria—are the theological paradigm from which I am writing. No apologies for it. No compromise.
